I have spent lots of time online researching the Doula & Midwifery fields, childbirth, breastfeeding, etc. Here are
some of the many sites I have come across. I'll be adding lots more, enjoy -LISA

This is a link to Debbie Lavin's site. She holds both DONA & CAPPA approved trainings.
I attended her birth doula training & was very pleased. Not only did she go over the "art" of working as a doula,
she went over the buisness aspect, as well as other topics not found in the typical doula training. I highly recomend attending
one of her trainings, even if you are not going the certified route.

Ok, here's my 2 cents... I would explore all of the different certifying options out there before deciding. Then
chose the one that fits you best. Also, remember you don't have to certify to work as a doula, but it does help document the
fact that you are seeking / gaining experience & actively pursuing continuing education. There are other
certifying organizations not listed on this chart that are worth looking into. Here's some that are not on the chart:
-PALS
-Global Birth Institute
Christian Midwives International
Post Office Box 21621 Eugene,
Oregon 97402, USA Phone: (503)344-0931 e-mail: HolyBirth@aol.com
I've never been able to find a web site for this organization.
If anyone know's if one exists, please let me know. Thanks!
